April Dinner Meeting

For April, we are going to have our dinner meeting on a THURSDAY night. We are hoping by switching up the night for this month’s dinner meeting, that will give some members the opportunity to attend that otherwise cannot make it on a Wednesday night. So, for April the dinner meeting will be held on Thursday, April 19th at 7:00 at Reifschneider’s Grill & Grape in Freeburg, IL.

MMOM February Family Day at Korte Rec Center:

We have scheduled a FREE Family Day for our group at the Korte Rec Center in Highland on Sunday February 26th. Our group will pay the admission price for our members and their plus 1, along with their children. Any others will need to pay the entry price. We will be able to swim and use the facility from 12 pm until 5:30 pm, but please arrive there before 4:00pm. The Rec Center pool is setup for kids of all ages. They have a baby/toddler area that is 0′ to 3′ that has a play structure in the water with a slide and water spouts, hoses, etc. They have a large twisting slide that ends in a pool of 4′ water. They have a “lazy river” and a large area for just swimming. They also have a hot tub for adults only. We will also have access to the fitness area for the older children and adults who don’t want to swim. There is a concession stand and many local restaurants around the Rec Center. It’s a great way to burn off some cooped up energy during the winter months! You can check out their website and view pictures of the facility at www.ci.highland.il.us. MMOM Blues Hockey Parent’s Night Out

There are 4 tickets still available for purchase for our MMOM Parent’s Night out on Thursday, March 8 to a Blues Hockey game at Scottrade Center. They are a first come, first serve basis. The tickets are $40 per pair. If interested please email Christine Arbeiter.

MOMMES Sale

The MOMMES Triplet Sale is March 3rd from 8-12 at the Gateway Center in Collinsville. MMOM members & spouses can get in for $1.00 at 7am. That is limited to MMOM member & spouse. Anyone else a MMOM member would bring (i.e. grandma, friend, etc.) would need to wait until 8am. VIP is sold out.

Make A Wish Foundation – Walk For Wishes 2012

MMOM has teamed up with the Make A Wish Foundation, Illinois Chapter to join in their annual Walk for Wishes at St. Clair Square Mall on Saturday, March 10. Our committee has recently decided that it’s time for our club to give back to our community and take part in volunteering our time or making donations to other organizations that support children, mothers or families. We have made a sponsorship contribution to the MAW foundation and created a team for all of our families to join in the walk and help raise funds for those families who have a child(ren) with a terminal illness who only have one wish to see be fulfilled. So come on out, join our team and help us support the cause! Registration is required and should be done by February 26th in order to guarantee a t-shirt for each participant. It is $20 per adult registration for anyone ages 14 and up. A child registration is $10 per child for anyone ages below 14 years of age.

To register you will need to visit http://walk4wishes2012.kintera.org and click on participant registration, click “I agree”, then register a family (this allows you to register multiple people at one time), then join a team. Our team name is MMOM (Metro East Mother’s of Multiples). Walker check in starts at 8am and goes until 9am in front of JC Penney’s and the walk is from 9-11am. You will also be able to take part in various activities placed around the mall, crafts, refreshments and other entertainment. Please wear your red MMOM t-shirt as we would like to participate in Walk for Wishes as a group. If you should have any questions feel free to email Jolana Church. More detailed information will be distributed via email to every family who participates and as it becomes available.

April’s Bounce House Family Fun Time

Come join us at the Riverbend Bounce on Saturday, April 14th from 10:00am to 12:00 noon for tons of fun! Riverbend Bounce is located at 145 E Ferguson, Wood River, IL. Check out their web site at www.riverbendbounce.com. This will be a private party just for members and our children. The facility is very secure for little ones to run and have fun! There is a large open area in the middle of all the bounces with tables and chairs. We can bring in any food or drinks that we wish with some snacks available to purchase. There are four large bounce houses and one small bounce house with a ball pit for children under the age of 3. The cost is only $5 per child. Please RSVP to Amy Gummersheimer by April 10th and include the number of adults and children in your party.
** Please note: This is a private party for us and we’ve rented out the entire facilities. We will only be able to use the facilities until 12:00 noon.

Laura and Sarah are our MMOM Sale Coordinators and will be happy to help you. You can begin tagging items with TagIt at any time. If you are a new seller, please contact Laura for directions to download the TagIt system and to get a new sale profile.

SALE RULE REMINDER FOR SELLERS:

Members must attend 2 Dinner Meetings or 2 Group Events or 1 of each to be able to participate as a seller in the upcoming Spring Sale. This requirement must be met during the 5 months preceding each semi-annual sale. Please email Jolana Church if you are unsure about how many events you have attended.

New Club Rule: Effective Immediately!

If you RSVP to an event with a pay at the door fee and you are a no show or do not contact the organizer to cancel with a minimum of a 24hr notice, you will still be held accountable for that pay at the door fee. It will also be noted that you owe the fees, therefore suspended to participate in any further events until that fee is collected.

MMOM Member Directory

Kathy Siekmann has volunteered to put together a MMOM Member Directory. This would be very useful for pre-sale viewing/selling, play dates, talking to a fellow member who has either been there/done that or has the same age children that you do. If you would like to be in the directory, please email your information to Kathy Siekmann by March 2nd. Information to include would be name, address, phone number, email address, your children’s names, birthdate and gender. Thank you Kathy for taking the time to do this for our group!
